Questions - Concerns - Research - Project Ideas

Let's get a jump start on the season by using this blog post to research and discuss possible projects. Remember our goal is to invent something new or take something that already exists and make it better. To keep us somewhat on track, I am going to set-up a  flexible timeline. Feel free to chime in at anytime.

Week 1 - Lets start by generating practical questions/concerns about space, space travel, and sustaining life in space. What do you wonder about?
Week 2 - Take a look at questions and concerns that have been generated by the team. Which ones interest you? Chose a topic or two, do a little research, and list some problems/concerns there are in the areas you researched.
Week 3 - Review the problems and concerns that were listed. Let's start to brainstorm possible solutions for the problems that interest you most.
Week 4 - Continue the discussion on possible project ideas? Make a simple prototype?

If we are taking the restrictions off of not bringing bacteria, cells, organic material, etc into space, then we could grow soy beans, reclaimed water, genetic modification to the plants that you grow to eliminate the seasonal decay, Turbines that harness energy from passing molicules and after being harnessed for energy it captures molicules for resorces, and other means of gaining water, food, resorces, energy, etc.

Need to research a list of problems astronauts have on ISS. Maybe come up with a plan to solve one of them. Nate and I listed to the podcast Part-time genius and it was about who will be the first to Mars and what issues there are. Great conversation starter.
